The Manor. The cornerstone of each Highgate is The Manor, where the ambience begins the moment you walk in the front door. Comfortable chairs and sitting areas invite settling in front of the fireplace, socializing, or gazing out into the beautiful garden or courtyard areas, which are a key feature at every Highgate. Artwork, plants, a warm décor, and a great grandfather clock add to the homey country-inn atmosphere.
The Manor can either be assisted living, with personal care services provided as needed; early stage memory care, where the emphasis is placed on programming designed to slow the ravages of a memory disorder; or independent living, where residents enjoy the benefits of being in their own place, but with access to a full range of services, amenities, and activities. The Manor offers a choice of private suites, ranging from small or large studios to one and two bedrooms or bedroom and den. All have a kitchenette, and a large bathroom with walk-in shower.
The Cottage. And at all locations, we have The Cottage. This is a very special part of Highgate that welcomes people with advancing memory decline. It’s a small, separate and secure part of the manor, with the same kind of comfortable surroundings, but with the added advantage of more individualized care and a higher staff to resident ratio.
Retirement Villa Duplex Homes. At some locations, we have been able to include Retirement Villa Duplex Homes, which offer complete independence and private space, but with access to all the services of The Manor.

The Manor - Assisted Living

The manor offers spacious private carpeted suites, ranging from small or large studios to one and two bedrooms or one bedroom with den, all with full bath, kitchenette, cable and phone hook-ups

- Family-style dining room with delicious food, carefully planned, prepared and served to appeal to all tastes
- Daily activities designed to fit a wide variety of interests and specifically designed to promote healthy aging

- Daily, weekly or as-needed care services, with registered nurse and 24 hour staff
The Cottage - Memory Care

Retirement Villa Duplex Homes
(Available at some locations only)
- Independent living in beautifully designed and appointed garden homes with 1300 - 1600 square feet on one level
- 2 bedrooms, 2 three piece baths, comfortable living areas, marble tiled entry hall, gas fireplace, enclosed garage, wheelchair accessibility throughout
- Bright and cheery kitchen with lots of windows, cozy breakfast nook, and all appliances, including washer and dryer
- Dining room with French doors opening onto patio and garden
- All the services of The Manor right next door, plus the security of immediate response in case of emergency
- Residents enjoy one meal a day in The Manor, or can choose to dine there more often for a nominal charge.
- Rent includes weekly housekeeping, all maintenance including garden, basic cable TV programming, all utilities (except personal telephone).
